The CRP100 Collar Removal Pliers from Omega Technologies feature a diamond shaped jaw which allows the pliers to ”surround” the collar, making solid 4-point contact over collars from .25” to .55” in diameter. (-5, -6, -8, & -10 Hi-Lok® and Hi-Lite® collars).
Vertical ”teeth” inside the jaw bite into collars to give maximum gripping force. The handle is offset at approximately 30° to provide good access over other fasteners or structure. With a ”strong grip” removal torques up to 200 lb-in have been reported on aluminum collars. (maximum achievable torque will be less on Steel and Titanium collars)
Where access is still a problem, or if additional torque is required, we recommend these other fine options:
Plier Style: CRP100 provides additional offset for added clearance.
Socket Style: OMSK Series or Savi Series. Both styles of sockets can be used with conventional square drive ratchet wrenches.
Wrench Style: REM100 series tools, available in flat, offset, open-end, and crow-foot styles.
